Hello, I'm Doug Leber, the developer of the Learner's Workshop programs. Thank you for visiting our site today. I'll be your guide to our programs and services.
Background of the Learner's Workshop: For ten years I've offered individual tutoring sessions in my private practice for kids and teens who struggle with school. Many of my clients reported feeling isolated or distressed, believing they were the only ones struggling so hard to master reading or math or writing.
That's why I'm developing Learner's Workshop programs. Small-groups work very well for teaching and learning math and writing. But they also are extremely effective tools for helping kids and teens learn about themselves and others.
Algebra One-Two-Rescue! and Math Write Now! Workshops
Current Learner's Workshop programs include Algebra One-Two-Rescue! and the Math Write Now! Learning Circle.
Algebra One-Two-Rescue!
Do you work hard but still struggle to keep up with your algebra class? You've tried--you've talked with your teacher--but the math still makes little or no sense to you? Does fear or anxiety threaten to turn math class into a torture chamber? Come to Algebra One-Two-Rescue! We can help.
We do more than guide you to better grades; we show you how to become a solid, confident student of math. Learn the keys to preparing for math quizzes and exams. Make sense of algebra. Master the math you need to learn.
Algebra One-Two-Rescue! tackles the issues that frequently trouble students. But its small-group format also ensures that each student gets individual, focused attention.

The Math Write Now! Learning Circle is a cooperative project-based learning environment for students to develop writing and math skills. Students gain skills, and they learn what makes a team function smoothly and effectively. Next Math Write Now! Learning Circles will begin in September. Please contact me for more information.
